Technique: Digital Painting Size: 2000 x 2000 px Year: 2022 The issue of women being relegated to a lesser status is not a recent issue; its origins go back in antient time. The root cause lies in the perception of women as the weaker gender, found in religious scriptures. In heavenly books such as the Bible, Torah, and Quran, the story of Adam and Eve and their expulsion from Eden Garden heavily put the blame on this gender: woman! Why shouldn't we view the creation of women as something divine? Why can't we applaud her wisdom and courage for consuming the forbidden fruit? Regardless of what one may argue, our existence owes itself to her. I was inspired by the Torah's story and chose to illustrate Adam and Eve's creation using the Iranian Negargari and Indian Mughal methods. These pieces are framed in a style reminiscent of carpet design.
